Dr. Eric Gilman is the LTA for Component II of the REBYC-III CLME+ Project.

Dr. Gil Man is a fisheries scientist whose research focuses on methods to mitigate and manage fisheries bycatch of threatened species; inputs for evaluating alternative bycatch management strategies; ecological responses to pelagic marine fisheries and management interventions; fisheries electronic monitoring systems; and abandoned, lost and discarded fishing gear.

He is a Senior Fellow with The Safina Center and Honorary Professor with Heriot-Watt University. He provides advisory services to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), The Nature Conservancy and several fisheries associations and seafood companies.

He has a PhD from the University of Tasmania School of Geography and Environmental Studies, Australia; MSc from Oregon State University Department of Oceanography, USA; and BA from Wesleyan University, USA.
