Ms. Richéda Speede is the Consultant for component 2 under the REBYC-III CLME+ Project in Barbados. She is an ocean professional with a solid foundation in coastal and marine resource management.
With over five years of experience, her work spans fisheries management, sargassum-related research, and blue economy development. Ms. Speede is particularly passionate about participatory research, having contributed to projects centered on social impact assessments and science communication.
She holds a BSc. (Hons). in Ecology and an MSc. (Dist). in Natural Resource and Environmental Management, both from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus.
Ms. Speede has co-authored publications on sargassum, presented at regional and international conferences, and collaborated across sectors to address challenges in fisheries management and social well-being. She remains committed to advancing sustainable ocean and coastal management, using her expertise to foster collaboration and innovative solutions that benefit both ecosystems and communities.
