Ms. Nerissa Lucky serves in the position of Technical and Project Co-ordinator at the Project Management Unit (PMU).

She has an MSc in the Science and Management of Tropical Environments and a BSc, Zoology and Botany (Upper Second Class Hons.) from the Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of the West Indies (UWI).

Ms. Lucky has over 27 years’ experience in the fisheries sector both nationally and regionally. Before joining the PMU, she was the immediate past acting Director of the Fisheries Division of Trinidad and Tobago and the national focal point for Trinidad and Tobago under the REBYC II LAC Project, another GEF-funded project that was the precursor to REBYC III.

She has held many diverse portfolios during her career including Lecturer, Industry Specialist and Assistant Technical Co-ordinator of an ACP/EU Project titled: “Strengthening of Fisheries and Biodiversity Management in African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Countries” administered by the Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism (CRFM) in Belize.

Ms. Lucky is passionate about the marine environment and a strong believer in balancing conservation and fishers’ livelihoods to arrive at long term, sustainable solutions that benefit current and future generations.
